Nostos wants every donor, family and school to be able to use this site, whatever tools they use to browse. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we do
- Build pages with semantic HTML, landmarks and a logical heading order.
- Make everything reachable and usable with a keyboard, with a visible focus state.
- Label every form field, announce errors, and move focus to the first problem on submit.
- Keep text contrast at or above 4.5:1, including on coloured backgrounds.
- Respect your reduced-motion setting: decorative animation stays still.
- Support browser zoom to 200% and text resizing without loss of content.
- Provide text alternatives for meaningful images and hide decorative ones from screen readers.
Known limitations
- Uploaded documents are provided by applicants and may not be accessible themselves.
- Payment fields are provided by our payment processor and follow its accessibility support.
Testing
We check pages with automated tools and by hand with a keyboard and screen readers (VoiceOver and NVDA) before release, and we re-review this statement at least once a year.
